Hello to all of our Cub families. This is Mr. Vernon with some updates for the upcoming week. If you haven't heard our governor did shut down schools for the remainder of this school year. I am extremely sad about this happening, but understand the safety reasons that must be thought of first. Our staff will continue to work hard to reach students virtually. With that being said, I again, want to
thank all of our Cubs families and our DCES staff for all the work and patience
they have put into the e-Learning process.
Currently we have between 96% and 97% of our Cubs meeting their weekly
requirements. We know this type of
learning will often become dull, but we need to keep encouraging our students to
have Grit and persevere until we can get back to our normal routine. If you are having difficulties with your
Chromebooks or internet, please reach out to your child’s teachers and we will
try our best to assist. Also, a reminder
that each day Monday – Thursday between the hours of 10am to 1pm lunches are
being served at Peace River Elementary, Neil Armstrong Elementary, Punta Gorda
Middle and in Englewood at LA Ainger Middle.
A lunch, as well as breakfast for the next day, we will be served to all
children 18 and under. Also, don’t
forget that WCUB news plays every day and students have access to the show
through Classlink. Each Friday on WCUB,
we have our Special guest scientists who visit and present the science question
of the week. Students can submit an
answer to their grade level question on our DCES webpage
yourcharlotteschools.net/dce . Also,
don’t forget about our Specials Hub. Each day of the week our specials teachers are posting a fun activity. Thank you
all for listening. Please keep our Cubs
working and reading. I can’t wait until
I get to see our Ready, Responsible and Respectful Cubs back at school. Have a great evening.
