April is Autism Awareness

Good Morning Deep Creek Elementary,

April is Autism Awareness Month. We are going to bring awareness to our campus.

Please have all your students write in their planners to wear a blue uniform shirt on Tuesday, April 2nd.  In addition, we have purchased a spirit stick "Choose Kind" for every student. Please give these out during the first week in April and try to help students add it to their rings. We hope this prompts conversation with your students about being accepting of everyone's differences.

The Family Reading Center is celebrating kindness and acceptance with a National Scribble Day activity on Wednesday. Mrs. Brown will read the book on the WCUB as well. Here is a link to some info.

Thank you for all you do to make all our Cubs feel welcome.

spring break MMM

Dear Deep Creek School Family,

Yes this is an exciting but stressful week so we hope you all just breathe! We thank you in advance for all you are doing to make this such a wonderful school! DCES is not only about test scores and grades but also family and happy kids! Keep that in mind as you prep for Teddy Bear Picnic.

That is what we hope for all our Cubs and each other! As we end observation season, we can honestly say that is what you are doing each day.

We try hard to not lose touch with this concept. Thank you for being open and trusting us enough to come share concerns when needed.

Have an awesome week and restful spring break. Well deserved!
