Time Flies 8/27/17

Dear Deep Creek School Family, 

It is hard to believe we are a month into school already. Time sure does fly when we are busy. The Monday Morning Memos are going to take a different feel this year and I am reducing the frequency. This is my fifth year as principal and I feel our needs have changed so the MMM will change too.

We are off to such a great start. I want to take a time to thank you all for making Deep Creek such a wonderful place to work and for our students. I know things are stressful especially things out of our control such as insurance changes. I thank you all for remembering our students have nothing to do with that. As I have been visiting classrooms, it is so inspiring to see how each of you work your magic with students every day. 

Cub Club continues to be a wonderful addition to our school. The financial contributions are very helpful both to the school and the staff that work it but the experiences our students receive from the program are phenomenal. Thank you to everyone who continues to make this program successful. We have been able to purchase and provide things that a few years ago we could not have imagined being able to do. 

On Friday evening, I heard the DOE denied our appeal of our school grade. We will continue pushing forward with our initiatives and making sure Deep Creek is a great place for students and staff. Our official school improvement plan is almost complete.

We are finalizing our committees and PLCs this week. I look forward to the work these groups complete.  These require a commitment from members to make our events and initiatives great. Let us remember, “many hands make light work”. Thank you all in advance.
